100 Recommended Classical

To our classical music lovers, the HDtracks staff has compiled a list of 100 recommended recordings available in our catalog. This list includes works from the renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic, and 20th century periods; spanning solo, instrumental, choral, chamber, concertos, and orchestral works. Many of the performances are iconic: they have been around a long time and deserve all of the acclaim that they have received. Additionally, we've included new recordings, perhaps by a famous artist, or for several works, by newer artists that have something interesting to say.

This is a list of recordings that serious classical music listeners will want to own. If you are unfamiliar with a work (or with the composer), then you owe it to yourself to hear it. There's a good chance you will find it delightful and become a fan of the composer and/or the musicians and seek out more from these individuals.
