From the included liner notes by Ben Fong-Torres:

Wherever we were when we first heard them, in the late Sixties, at places like the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, we were taken deep into the South, and into bayou country. John Fogerty's bluesy roar of a voice and his songs - some of his own invention, others carefullypicked from America's rich R&B catalog - took us into Louisiana deltas and the land of cotton. We heard about Cajun women and spellbinding forces; we learned that escaping the big city could lead to a calmer, happier existence. Mostly, we rocked and heeded the band's call to keep on chooglin'.

Credence Clearwater Revival was the eponymous debut album by the American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival and was originally released on July 5, 1968. The album featured a number of covers, including "Susie Q", which became a hit. Although the band initially struggled to achieve recognition by critics, they would eventually go on to become one of the most well-known and beloved American rock bands of the 1960s and '70s.

John Fogerty - lead guitar, vocals
Tom Fogerty - rhythm guitar, background vocals
