Ask anyone in Chicago, “Who’s the hottest guitarist in town?” and more often than not, they’ll come up with the name Carl Weathersby. Not only has he been the lead guitarist with Chicago’s Sons of Blues for over thirteen years, but his vocals and songwriting skills (along with Billy Branch’s harmonica) have defined the style of one of the Windy City’s most popular blues aggregations. Carl was the second blues musician to sign on to the Evidence roster (after Melvin Taylor), and this recording, which was produced by John Snyder in late 1995, is a straightforward hard-rockin’ Chicago blues album. His soulful voice always softens the hard edge of his playing.

"...the native Mississippian sings with fervor and individuality as his urgent-yet-controlled guitar sound gouges the air like the second coming of Albert King. Weathersby brings the immediacy of discovery to old songs...and he writes songs that are both fresh and weighted with hard-won experience."
