How I Knew Her is comprised of twelve autobiographical, introspective songs by Nataly Dawn. Produced by her longtime partner Jack Conte, the album is a compelling listen which features a group of accomplished musicians including Ryan Lerman (A Fine Frenzy) on electric guitar, mandolin, banjo and acoustic guitar; David Piltch (k.d. lang, Bill Frisell, Bonnie Raitt) on upright bass; Louis Cole (Pomplamoose); and Matt Chamberlain (Brad Mehldau, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos) on drums. The studio where the album was recorded (Prairie Sun Studios) enabled the musicians to play in one room as a full band. Oz Fritz engineered the album and it was mastered by Bob Ludwig. The album has already received early praise from BBC Music, the Daily Telegraph, Mojo and The Independent.
