Keystone Companions/The Complete 1973 Fantasy Recordings captured a world-class collaboration between keyboardist Merl Saunders and guitarist Jerry Garcia. Recorded live on July 10 and 11, 1973 at the iconic Keystone club in Berkeley, California, this quadruple album commemorates the 70th anniversary of Garcia’s birth and includes seven previously unreleased tracks. Joining Garcia and Saunders were bassist John Kahn, drummer Bill Vitt and David Grisman on Bob Dylan’s “Positively 4th Street.” The release of Keystone Companions/The Complete 1973 Fantasy Recordings marks the first time this memorable show has been available in its entirety. The diverse offering spans blues, jazz, funk, rockabilly, Broadway, Motown, two Bob Dylan covers and Jimmy Cliff’s immortal “The Harder They Come.”
