The soundtrack for Legend, a 1985 fantasy adventure film directed by Ridley Scott, was composed for the American release of the film in 1986. The film (which originally had a score by Jerry Goldsmith) had a disappointing test screening with American audiences, which caused Scott to decide to make changes to the film. It was suggested that a different musical score be written for the film's American theatrical release. Tangerine Dream was asked to write a soundtrack and completed the entire score in three weeks.

On June 12, 2012, Brandon K. Verrett created a tribute/cover album of the Tangerine Dream soundtrack, re-orchestrating and recording some tracks that were not on the original soundtracks. The original soundtrack by Tangerine Dream was made entirely with electronics; Verrett's tribute album, on the other hand, uses 'organic' instruments, such as violins, cellos, and flutes.

Reviews
This collection is like re-discovering a lost love. While the music is more orchestral than synthesizer sounds and 80s guitar, the original passion is back ¦ and then some!
