Appleseed Recordings is proud to release the debut CD by Alec Stone Sweet,
Memory & Praise - a sublime and beautiful collection of solo instrumental guitar pieces. Featured on the CD are six of Alec’s arrangements of pieces written by Turlough O’ Carolan, the legendary 17th century blind Irish harper. Rounding out the CD are dance tunes, one lullaby and two medleys of Appalachian fiddle tunes which Alec plays on the guitar using a clawhammer banjo style that is distinct and utterly original. Standout tracks include Mabel Kelly, The Choice Wife, O’Carolan’s Farewell to Music, The Lamentation of Owen Roe O’Neill, and Shady Grove/Salt River.

Sparse, achingly beautiful, and filled with soul, Memory & Praise is a CD flowing with deeply emotional music and a welcome addition for fans of of guitar, traditional instrumental, or just plain, beautiful music. Already being praised by critics and musicians alike, Alec Stone-Sweet is a musician to take notice of.

"As beautiful a solo guitar recording as I have ever heard." - Eric Schoenberg
