About The Artist

Carl Schuricht was born in 1880 in Danzig (now Gdansk, Poland). Already conducting by the age of 15, he studied piano and composition in Berlin with Rudorff and Humperdinck and composition in Leipzig with Reger. In 1901 he was appointed répétiteur at Mainz, in 1907 operetta conductor at Zwickau, and in 1909 he succeeded Siegfried Ochs as conductor of the Rühl Choral Union, Frankfurt.
