Old Yellow Moon is a new collaborative classic from Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell. This breathtaking twelve-track duets album features four Crowell originals as well as interpretations of songs including DeVito’s “Hanging Up My Heart,” Miller’s “Invitation to the Blues” and Reynolds’ “Dreaming My Dreams.” Produced by Brian Ahern, the album is their first official collaboration since Crowell joined Harris’ Hot Band in 1975. Old Yellow Moon also features world-renowned musicians including Stuart Duncan, Vince Gill, Bill Payne and original members of Hot Band. This sensational album is a scintillating blend of country music with rock and roll.

Like the Ahern-Harris productions of the past, the sound is beautifully delineated and detailed. A long-overdue good idea proven to be great. - Stereophile
