The Hoff Ensemble is some of Norway’s finest jazz musicians including trumpeter Mathias Eick, bassist Arild Andersen and pianist Jan Gunnar Hoff. Their recording, Quiet Winter Night, epitomizes the Nordic sound, incorporating elements of jazz and folk. The album includes the instrumental jazz/fusion track “Blagutten,” the breathtaking “Hva skal hende na” and more. Acclaimed composers Geir Bohren and Bent Aserud penned the work, which features many of Norway’s top vocalists including Helene Boksle, Sondre Bratland, Unni Wilhelmsen, Tomine Harket and Cecilia Vennersten.
