Long based in New York City, where he's a prominent member of Cuban saxophonist Paquito D'Rivera's quintet, trumpeter Urcola returns to the land of his birth for a recording session with some of the excellent musicians he left behind in Argentina. These 13 tracks, produced in Buenos Aires, explore the full breadth of Urcola's impressive stylistic range.

Except for three tracks - a piece by pianist Pablo Ziegler, Miles Davis' Blue in Green" and an Argentine folk tune called "Alfonsine y el Mar" - the compositions are by Urcola and his sidemen. "Lorena" a lovely ballad creation of Urcola's, allows the leader to explore his lyrical side, while the rest of the program stretches into the realm of the folk-rooted milonga and chacarera rhythms.
