Recorded on Westrex 3-track 35mm magnetic film recorders (Nutcracker) and Ampex 300 3-track half-inch tape recorders at 15 inches per second (Serenade for Strings). First-generation tapes were transferred to produce this high-definition download.

On this delightful audiophile download, world class conductor Antal Dorati and the London Symphony Orchestra study one of Tchaikovsky’s final ballets, The Nutcracker. The work is refreshingly symphonic and rendered with varying tones, balanced textures and marvelous bells. Detailed and warm, every melodic line is emphasized with the stunning clarity and depth associated with the Mercury Living Presence series. One of the finest recordings in the series, this album cannot be missed!
